Project Description
Crowns & Bridges
Teeth can be weakened over time due to the amount of pressure from biting and chewing. Cracked or missing teeth detract from the appearance of your prettiest smile. Even worst, they have to be removed due to fracture or infection.
We have tools and skills to restore your mouth to its former glory, whether by using implants for missing teeth or to cover and protect the weak teeth; we have a solution for every situation.
A crown is a full protective cover which permanently sits over the tooth and looks just like a real tooth- sometimes even better! A crown can make the tooth stronger, better looking and reduce the risk of breakage. Crowns are like helmets for your teeth.
If you have a few missing teeth, we can replace the missing teeth with a bridge. A bridge is a device used to replace the space where a tooth has been removed. It is made out of three or more crowns, fused to each other in a subtle way, being supported by teeth or implants on either side. They are made to look like individual teeth even though crowns in a bridge are fused.
The treatment process for crown & bridge
The tooth/teeth to be crowned are first given a desired size and shape after which an accurate impression (measurement) is made and sent to a dental laboratory. The laboratory then fabricates the crown or bridge according to the specifications prescribed by the dentist. Then the prosthesis is cemented in the patient’s mouth.
To take proper maintenance for your crown and bridge, we recommend:
- Proper oral hygiene cannot be over emphasised including flossing at least twice daily.
- Regular dental check-ups and professional cleaning to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
- Avoiding hard foods like chops, caramels, sticky and crunchy foods like ice cubes. Some habits like chewing pens and nail biting.
Protect your weaker teeth and replace the missing ones with crown and bridge treatment. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as our goal is to help you preserve your teeth for a lifetime.
